We came here for a quick lunchtime meal. I haven't been to this pub for well over 20 years, but if I was just looking for a pub, I'd definitely choose the Bull & Bladder just down the Delph from here.
The Corn Exchange is a Greene King pub, a family friendly place that serves food and the usual lagers alongside a couple of Greene King cask ales (IPA & Abbot).
Food was reasonable and an unexpected bonus was 4 boxed Lilley's ciders in the fridge (Mango, Tropical, Apple & Pears and Cherries & Beers. A CAMRA discount is offered on the Greene King ales, but not on the ciders.
Championship football was being show on a couple of screens at either end. Enjoying a prominent location not far from the Merry Hill shopping centre, there will always be a good demand for food and drink here, but head down the Delph for decent beer. Car parking is free, but you have to enter your registration plate at the bar to enjoy the "privilege".

Standard Greene King food pub. Plenty of screens for the footie (which was the reason for my visit). A couple of pool tables. Abbot and IPA on which weren't the best to be honest. OK to watch the match but I'll stay in the Bull & Bladder for the beer!

Called in to this Sizzling Greene King pub when it opened today so it was very quiet. 2 beers on were Abbot and Spooky Old Hen which had a made up pump clip. Both beers tasted ok. Massive open plan room with pool table and dart board at one end.
