Two-room corner pub, with a 'L'-shaped bar at the front (plainly refurbished in green since Soupy's 2013 visit), a larger and more comfortable lounge at the back - with a traditional look and home to the pool table - with a lobby featuring a couple of disused service hatches (presumably for off-sales) in between. Plainly decorated and simply but tidily furnished, and doing a good trade early on a Tuesday evening. Two sadly disused handpumps, with a restricted keg choice including the inevitable John Smith's (£2.30).

This is a now detached corner pub, formerly called the Coach and Horses. It is a Victorian pub, once at the heart of Bordesley Green, opposite the Albert Brick Works. The upper floor is in red brick, the lower in moulded red brick, with large rounded windows and fanlight - it looks tidy. The interior has a couple of rooms. I didnt see too much of the lounge, but it is in white and fake beam, with a pool table and Blues memorabilia on the walls. The bar room is a small, L-shaped room, in cream and red. There is a dart board and a TV (with the footy on). There was no music, but there is a jukebox. Tasteful Blues pictures are on the walls. The service was fine and the clientele local, and it was very cosmopolitan. Beer; no real ale, just usual keg drinks, no MILD - i had a shandy. A great locals pub in my opinion, just a shame they had no drinks to my taste.
