Delboy 20 left this review about The Auld Triangle
The Auld Triangle has changed names again. It is now The Lion. A square room with decent furnishings. A few TV screens (including a large projector screen) showing the football. There is a DJ booth in one corner. Still no ale choice so we had Coors. We were the only customers although the Spoons over the road was packed!

Soup Dragon left this review about The Red Lion
This is a detached pub, now re-opened after a period of closure. It looks modern, and it is to a certain degree, as it is a rebuild (1950s?). The current pub sits on the site of a hotel, of the same name, which was at least Victorian. The Sainsbury Supermarket and the car park were once a school and the space behind the pub was a bowling green in the 1950s. The pub consistes of a brick 'house', with a white rendered low-level extension in which the pub is housed. I saw one room. It was quite tidy, being in coffee, chocolate and a flowery grey patterned wallpaper. A set of wood shelves was in one corner with a few ornaments on. An almost pulpit like wood area is in the middle of an otherwise bare room and a few photos are on the walls. There was a silent TV and a jukebox that was sadly drowned out by the loud karaoke. The service was OK and a few regulars were in, inflicting, or suffering the singing. Beer; no real ale, just the usual tap stuff, with M&B MILD - I had a shandy. One for the locals.
