Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Rainbow
Corner pub with a notably high ceiling, dim lighting, exposed brickwork, mid-brown wooden furniture and a slightly darker timber floor. The main bar faces the side street, with another room behind the counter and a smaller seating area under the stairway leading to the first floor. Vegetarian / vegan menu. No cask ale, and only limited keg options, from which Beavertown's Neck Oil and Gamma Ray (£6.60) were the least dull.

High ceilinged evening only music pub, mainly given over to standing though there is some limited seating. Also a table arcade machine. Intersting droplet lighting.
No real ale.

This is a Victorian corner pub and certainly called the Rainbow back in the 1880s. It is in black (pained pilasters) and leaded glass, with a brick, moulded stone and moulded cornice upper. It is a nice example of Victorian building. The interior has been stripped back to bare brick and a bit of brown - with a wood floor. It doesnt give the warmest feel. There is a main room, with an area behind the bar. The back area has a TV with daytime programmes and some seating that looks like a pommel horse! The main room has an empty fish tank (with wood in!), the space invader flat-table 80s computer game, the TARDIS entrance, a few sofas and a chest or portmanteau box was acting as the table. The was general charty music at a decent level and a few mirrors occupy the walls. The service was fine and a few people were in. Beer; no real ale, just the basic taps - I had an OK Guinness. Nothing for the real ale fan.
