This is a Grade II, 18th century listed building. I remember it as a semi-regular haunt back in the mid-1980s after it has just opened as a pub. I am sure its original name was the Cole Hall Farm, before changing to the Poacher's Pocket. The place was originally a moated site, but had become a sewage works by around 1900. This function ceased in the mid-20th cent and I seem to remember (vaguely) it being a little run-down before it was re-vamped. It is a pub and banqueting suite, only the pub element is members only, so it really shouldn't be on PG in my opinion.
