The Fiveways @ Hazel Grove is a very large L-shaped Holts pub with an L-shaped central serving counter for beer, a carvery and ice cream. The usual Holts keg was available alongside two banks of four hand pumps that were drawing Bitter and Two Hoots. The children’s toy grab machine in the entrance gives the game away that this is a food led family friendly pub. It was empty during a recent early Tuesday evening visit, but I imagine it’s not my sort of place when it’s busy. The service was friendly and there is a bit of bar seating by the entrance where I enjoyed my Two Hoots listening to a bit of ‘Here Comes the Hotstepper’ in the background, but as a middle aged man out for a beer this place wasn’t worth the detour from the main drag.
