Strongers . left this review about The Fountain Inn
The bar of the Fountain Inn is parquet floored throughout with a serving counter on the right-hand side of the rear wall. The counter is a glass shelf that contains old pictures, and it runs the length the bar and down the left to a central column to additionally create a beer shelf between the bar area and banquette seating to the left. This shelf also allows people standing in the bar area to view the four televisions that have been made into a large screen on the left-hand wall. The customer base was a late 50s to 70s crowd, but there was a group of thirty-somethings sat at a high table at the front where stairs go down to another space. These stairs were roped off so I didn’t get to have a look, but I did see the front of a classic car as I peered down them. I would have asked the barmaid who was manning the many Carling taps, but she seemed a bit wary of me being a stranger, so I think she might have phoned the police if I started asking questions. There was no worthwhile sport on during my visit, so the multi-tele screen was off while someone’s great aunt’s 90s cruise playlist could be heard in the background. This feels like a well-supported local, but the lack of cask will turn many off.

Nicely refurbished corner pub, but still very much a local boozer with racing on several silent TV screens but there was plenty of good-natured chatter within the various groups of regulars. Apparently, there is now a vintage car in the downstairs bar, but the stairs were roped off so I can't verify that. The beer selection is still not up to much, so went for the Worthington's (£3.80) as probably the cheapest option.

Basic, rather run down back street corner pub. Looking very tired inside, needs a bit of TLC as everything appears worn.
There is a pool table in the back room.
No real ale & the keg offering was undrinkable.
