I really enjoyed my stay at this 5 star Gastropub, fab room and breakfast. Food and service were superb, also there was a good range of real ales. Weetwood brewery and Beartown brewery are permanent plus a weekly guest. Six beers in all on handpump, prices in line in spite of it's star rating. A lot of who's who brigade if your into that sort of thing which I am not, am a bit too laid back for that. Will call again.

I joined a company called Chemical Services & Distribution (now United Phosphorus) in 1984 and came here for lunch after my interview. A short time after, 1986 I think, two of our directors ran the pub. I really liked the pub but, having been made redundant in 1992, I have no reason to visit regularly. July 2009, the pub is open again following a fire which forced its closure. Went by the other day but in too much of a rush to take new photo. We will get there next week (I hope)
