Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Cross Guns
One of few remaining pubs in the area, this one has a small plain bar at the front with a pool table as the central feature. Another bar can be found behind the central servery, with a small patio beyond en route to the toilets; all slightly more modernised than one might expect. No real ale of course, but went for the Mild (badged as Ansells, £2.80).

This is a 1920/30s corner pub. The pub is in plain brick, with a touch of the Georgian square look, having sash looking upper and lower (larger) windows and central doorways. The pub has a couple of rooms, although i only saw the small front bar room, which has the serving bar facing you on entry. It is in cream and brown and has a pool table (just) in the middle. A few boxing and 'actor' pictures adorn the walls. The service was friendly and it is very much a locals pub, Danny (below) is right - lots of domino playing and banter and a more mature clientele. There was no TV that i saw and there was a jukebox, playing general stuff at a decent level. Beer; no real ale, just the usual taps with Ansells' MILD - sadly, i only saw this after ordering a shandy. Anyhow, a couple of the old fellas chated to be and it turned out to be a happy enough stop, but nothing for the real ale fan.

The building is slightly out of keeping with the rest of the area, being more modern on the outside than the surrounding brick terraces.
Its a very basic square room with a pool table filling the middle. Not comfortable at all, and possibly not surprising for Handsworth everyone seems to know each other.
