The Peg & Grill is a solid old Victorian corner pub that now operates as an Indian bar and grill, which is very evident from the tempting smells from the kitchen in the rear. I think there is dining seating also in the rear, but as I wasn’t dining, I stayed in the thin bar found across the front right where a long green marble topped counter faces a cream banquette that runs under the front windows. Televisions were airing muted Monday Night Football build up via Sky Sports while some crap non-descript club music played in the background. Unsurprisingly there’s no cask, so the draught available was Carling alongside premium and mainstream craft keg options. The days of this being a proper pub are long gone, but it was filling up before I left so the good food at reasonable prices is drawing people in.

The Bull's Head, as was, has reopened as a desi pub. (A pub owned or managed by a landlord of Indian origin, serving Punjabi food).

Surprised to say that Davenport's have sold the Bulls Head - to an "unnamed investment company". No idea what the future holds now!
