Typical Estate / locals pub with no real ale. I had my usual fall back beer - a bottle of Newcastle which was the same as it always is! Pool table and dart board.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Cat & Fiddle
Large twin-bar estate pub hidden away in the northern suburbs. Basic public bar with high bench tables at the front and a brighter room at the back with standard semi-modern furniture and a few minor changes in level to break up the space into slightly separate seating / dining areas. A generally bland 60s estate pub from the outside, with a beer patio at the rear.
The interior has two roomws. The bar is in blue and white mainly, with little in the way of pictures/photos and ephemera, with a pool table, dart board, TVs, loudish music and a mixed clientele enjoying the beer. The lounge is the total opposite, being a family orientated value food eatery, in the white and salmony colour decor, with TVs showing the cricket - one being 3D. There were some old photos of the area on the walls here. The service was fine, the clientele in the lounge were mixed, with families as well.
Beer; tap stuff, with Bombardier, Spitfire and a guest of Bateman's You've Blown it in South Africa - a topical and reasonable beer.
Whilst this place wasn't exactly my cup of tea, it does combine successfully the aspects of a gastropub eatery and a proper bar room, with real ale and pub games. A place i could pop in for one, but many will stay for longer.
