Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Calthorpe Arms
Now reopened as a bar and grill - the former having been tidied up a bit but still basic. Limited, if refurbished, seating at the narrow end of the wedge-shaped layout, with a pool room on one side of the wider part and the lounge / restaurant in the other. No real ale, of course, with Worthington's (£3.40) available from a small number of standard keg taps.

It has been a few years since I called in here. I had to have a can because there was no beer on! It looks as though it has closed down now as the car park is fenced off and the windows are whitewashed from inside. Can't see this opening again but you never know!

This is a detached U-shaped corner pub. It is Victorian, and takes its name from the Calthorpes, who were big landholders around the wider Brimingham area at that time. The pub is somewhat irregular in its shape, with a smaller upper storey above the bar area and bay windows in the lounge area behind. It is in cream render, with red paintwork (pilasters and windows), which is now a little tired. The interior has a rear lounge, which was in darkness. The front room is the bar, and has a diagonal serving bar (now the old interior walls have gone). It is in red, cream and wood panel, with a white ceiling nd red tile floor. There is a side area that has a pool table and a serving hatch from where Indian food is served - i didn't see the menu, or try the food, so can't comment on that. A few general prints are on the walls, with a few mirrors, but it looks a little plain. The TV has American wrestling on and the music was rock based, although there is a jukebox. The service was OK, despite getting my order wrong. The clientele was cosmopolitan and local - it was quite busy too. Beer; no real ale, just the usual tap stuff with M&B MILD. I tried a pint of mixed, which ended-up as lager and bitter! One for the locals.
