The Brasshouse sits adjacent to the Birmingham Canal so there is minimal seating along the Waters Edge path that runs between the pub and the water. The large high-ceilinged interior is L-shaped with a main serving counter that faces high tables and raised seating up the right-hand side of the pub. Carpeted seating areas are found across the front and a raised seating area in the left rear corner is a faced from the right by a smaller serving counter. Premium and mainstream craft keg was available across the two counters, and I counted six hand pumps, five of which were in use drawing Tribute, London Pride, Silhill Brewery’s Black Sabbath as well as Goffs’ Pan-Asian Pale and Black Knight. Televisions throughout were airing muted cricket via Sky Sports and the 80s and 90s music was playing too loud to be classed as being in the background during a recent early midweek evening visit. The pub itself is good, but unfortunately there was a large group of very loud plonkers at the bar during my visit. I’ll give this place another try when next passing in the hope that there’s less of an assault on the ears.
