Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Black Horse Inn
Thatched pub tucked away in a residential area of Shipston. The entrance corridor leads to a traditional public bar to the left and a lounge/restaurant to the right. The latter was packed on our early Wednesday evening visit. So, we chose to sit in the bar, where a group of elderly locals were chatting away.
Regular beers are Wye Valley Butty Bach & Prescott Hill Climb. I chose the guest beer, which was Cotswolds Craft - Pale Ale, also from Prescott Brewery. Very enjoyable it was too.
If you like traditional pubs, this is your best option when in Shipston.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Black Horse Inn
Very attractive pub at the end of a mostly-thatched terrace that must have been quite rural until the railway came in the 19th century. The ultra-traditional interior retains two bars, separated by the off-sales counter, plus a further restaurant at one end. Four handpumps on the main counter, offering Butty Bach (£3.20), Prescott Hill Climb, Hawks Bitter as a guest and a Hogan's cider.

The Black Horse Inn is a really nice looking thatched pub that is a short walk from the middle of Shipston on Stour.
Once inside there was a lounge to the right this is the room we had a drink in,the floor was tiled and there was a low beamed ceiling, there were wood bench seats around the front with normal tables and chairs in the other areas.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Wye Valley bitter which was a very nice drink, the other beers were Purity Mad Goose and Butcombe bitter.
The pub was quite busy with locals and it had a nice laid back feel to it.
This was a decent pub to have a few drinks in.
