A nondescript roadhouse which endured a refurbishment about twenty years ago. Time has not healed, and it feels depressingly suburban inside. Too much emphasis on food to make it feel comfortable, with all normal tables reserved at 4pm despite a paucity of punters. Drinkers are meant to perch on the stupid high stools, unhelpful if you're in a wheelchair.
The Hooky bitter was fine, though £4 a pint is ambitious for such a humdrum location.
If you're passing this way the Folly is orders of magnitude better.

Very much an eating house now, with a peculiar single price menu structure which didn'[t really suit us as only wanted a quick bite. Even worse, they couldn't vary the menu options (eg no cheese) as apparently pre-prepared. Range of Hook Norton beers which were drinkable, but not in the finest condition. A bit disappointing - could be much better.

Full range of Hook Norton on - I went for a Hooky, which was cloudy but tasted OK.
We were there at Sunday Lunchtime. Although they do offer the full menu, there are no light bites or sandwiches. This isn't a complaint - most places just do Sunday Lunch.
Everyone there was dining.
