A down-to-earth pub up the road from the station. A nice looking pub exterior but a fairly basic interior. 2 roomed with a pool table in the room behind the bar. Very purple inside and there is a small stage opposite the bar. 2 handpumps on the bar but only one ale on today, that being Belhaven Scrum Down (or something).

A very neat looking pub from the outside, inside it's in need of some TLC. The other pubs in this area have all closed and as there were only 4 people in the pub on a Friday evening this one may well be next. The barmaid looked bored out of her skull as she served me a half of the only cask ale available which was John Smiths, it was OK. There's a giant screen for sport along with pool and darts, but nothing drew in the punters during my visit.

The Wheeltapper is a large victorian pub that is now the closest open pub to the train station.
Once inside the main bar room is L shaped, this room has bench seating around the edge with small stools, there is a pool table in a smaller area to the rear left.
There was one real ale on the bar which was John Smiths Cask, this was a decent enough drink.
There was some old type background music playing, the pub was quite busy on my Saturday evening visit.
This pub reminded me of pubs in Hyson Green in the late 80s but without the edge.
I thought this was a decent enough pub to end my crawl of Rugby in.
