A fairly typical edge of town pub but very clean, tidy and well kept. The Red Lion has two large rooms, to the right a comfortable, carpeted lounge area with ample seating and to the left a bar area with pool table. There is also a large and well tended garden behind the car park which is a pleasant place for a slurp on a sunny day. Service is very friendly with an attractive barmaid who has healing properties but the beer is sadly indifferent. Brew XI and Pedigree are regulars, I tried the latter but didn't go for a second preferring lager. There is also a guest, Bateman's We've Blown It on my visit. A pleasant place for a stop should you be passing but not one to make a detour for.
