Thoroughly-modernised and slightly upmarket small hotel, still displaying its original Red Lion name on the frontage. The interior is all very smart in a Habitat sort of way and has a selection of different rooms, including a function suite across the courtyard beer garden. 4 handpumps offer a changing range of mainly local brews, notably from Weetwood and Salopian, and condition seemed very good.
