One of a couple of pubs along Church Road, the Green Man is quite a large building with a large car park and camping ground to the rear. Inside, there are a number of sub-divided rooms with low beams. Doorways are padded to avoid head injuries. There was at least one TV in one section and there are exposed stone walls on the left-hand side. Flooring was a mixture of bare boards with rugs, tiling and carpet. Paperback books were available to read or perhaps borrow, whilst to continue the reading theme, newspapers were also provided.
The pub had what looked like a dining room to the rear with a garden beyond that before you reach the car park. There are also picnic tables outdoors to the front. A wifi password is provided and I noted that they had a Green Man Golf Tournament forthcoming.
On the bar, were London Pride, Butty Bach, Proper Job & Wainwight Gold. The cider was Inch's. All served by a young barman who could not stop sneezing. Well it is hay fever season! I believe the pub now opens at 4pm on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday.

Perfectly described by BF, including the beer range, the only change is the price of the excellent Mad Goose. Note it doesn't open till 5PM during the week

A former farmhouse dating back to 1690,this old building has a very low door and ceilings throughout. You enter into the main room with a brick fireplace to the left and lots of exposed stonework.Furniture is traditional and there is a back bar, through a door but this wasnt being used on my Friday after work visit. The handpumps are in a section to the right, while beyond there is a square section with a few dining style tables, however food is not served so it's just a good ,honest village boozer with no modern distractions (apart from rugby when on BT Sport) and just the hubub of friendly chatter,it was proving very popular.Camping is offered at the rear, while bench seating to the front would be fine in good weather.
The four handpumps were offering London Pride,St Austell Tribute,Black Sheep bitter and a very good Purity Mad Goose (pricey at £3.75)
Friendly enough place and if you are boating moor up at Bridge 26A and the pub is a 5 minute walk up the footpath and then Bascote Road.
