A village local, there has been a recent refurbishment which has extended the footprint and created more room internally. There is a front bar around the entrance with the bar ahead, which also serves a back lounge with some sofas.Beyond this there is a new restaurant area but rather regimented with much pine furniture.Food is available both at lunchtime and early evening.
To the right of the entrance is a pool room with silver flock wallpaper. There isn't any rustic charm however, just functional modern furniture with two flatscreens for sky Sports. There is a pleasant patio which extends around two sides of the exterior bordering the carpark, with a smoking shelter and some high tables out the back of the pool room.
Three handpumps were serving on my visit Tetley Bitter ,Phipps Midsummer Meadow and IPA (woody tang ,£3.50) so nothing to get too excited about.Unlike some locals who were well oiled in what is these days the only pub in the village, although there is a large WMC nearby.A very long walk from the Grand Union, which despite a warm welcome ,is not easy to justify by what's on offer.

Pleasant local in a small village just off the main road. It's a two room eighteenth century building, with a traditional public bar and comfortable lounge, and a largish garden to the rear. Though not elaborately decorated there's a fascinating collection of Guinness memorabilia. Ansell's bitter; and Liberation Ale - from Guernsey - guesting when we called. All clean and tidy and friendly service, it's well worth a visit.
