A classic looking flat roofed estate pub dating from the early 60's when the housing went up.Today under right to buy,the estate has become quite smart and this pub has also moved with the times.The huge plate glass windows on all sides show just who's drinking inside and with the interior badly overlit,from a distance this pub looks like a spaceship has just landed.
There is a very corporate makeover to the L shaped interior and the short pub grub menu looked like food service fare,microwave to the ready.
The bar staff were very friendly,and the lack of real ale promped the barman to ask if I would like a bottle of Abbott,an offer I naturally rejected in favour of a keg GK East Coast IPA served in the correct glass and reasonable but quite fizzy.
The clientele were manily a senior collection of locals,but the lack of real ale would inhibit another long walk from the Coventry Canal despite the warm welcome.
