Upmarket pretensions but ultimately still a boozer. Open plan, with a dining area off to the left by a very nice red chimney breast and the main drinking area is to the right. Noted some intricate dado railings. However the air of cultivated cosiness was undermined by the pervading cold and some bizarre décor choices, including giant posters for AC/DC and some sort of 50 Shades of Grey thing. Four pumps but just Doom Bar on – though to be fair it was about as good a drop of Doom Bar as you’re likely to get. I want to like it in here but there were too many negatives on my visit. It could be very good though with a bit more thought.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Town House

Refurbished pub with mixed furniture and decor in the front seating area, side dining room and small bar at the back. Tiny rear patio. Four handpumps on the counter, offering Doom Bar (£3.40), Landlord, Purity Pure UBU and Rosie's Pig cider.
