Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Stag
Upmarket food-led village pub, albeit with a traditional two-part bar retained (which was surprisingly full on a Wednesday evening) as well as the formal dining rooms beyond. As parts decorated in a tasteful, light style that won't appeal to the traditionalists. Wye Valley's Butty Bach and a pair from Purity - Pure Gold (£4.90) and Mad Goose - on three of the four handpumps.

Found whilst walking the Millennium Way (blogged at http://bit.ly/1OZlbeT). This is a perfect example of a country inn. Immaculate inside and out. Four real ales on and I went for a fine example of Hook Norton Hooky. The fact is was perfect made the £3.70 a touch more palatable.

Nick Davies left this review about The Stag
A large thatched building standing high above the village now largely devoted to being a Michelin listed restaurant. The pub bit amounts to what might have been the public bar to the left of the premises. There are exposed beams and a fire to make it feel cozy on a cold afternoon, though it all seems designed to seat as few people as possible and to encourage bar blockers. Hooky and Old Hooky on the pumps, and very nice too, but this place isn't really interested in pubgoers, and service was perfunctory.
If you lived here you'd make the best of it, but there's little to detain the casual visitor.
