Bit of an 'old mans' pub, and with people smoking inside it was a put off for me.

Lots of room and its ok, but not too comfortable.

A terraced blue and white Banks's pub, with patio/fag area out the back where there is a covered fish pond built into the ground.

The pub is a two roomer, served by a central bar. The bar had darts and racing on the TV (Cheltenham week) and a brick fireplace, the lounge had a pool table and was generally in white and wood panel, with railway pictures and other ephemera around. The service was fine, the clientele, as the previous reviewer said, a locals pub - mixed and friendly. The music was a bit lound, but that's it.

Beer; tap stuff - no MILD, with a single handpull, which was a pretty decent pint of Banks's bitter.

A good solid pub. I would return.

The Railway is probably the best working mans pub in the town, excellent beer always polite happy staff a superb smoking area and the customers are generally locals who just like a good drink
