The Queen's Head has much more the feel of an urban local pub than the King's Head up the road, but both have their merits. As you enter, there is a bar to the left and a lounge to the right, either side of a central bar. I chose the bar and immediately noticed the smell of damp. The bar has a large screen TV, a couple of fireplaces and a pool table on a higher level to the front. Board games can be found in a small cabinet, whilst a couple of dartboards were sat on a table. I'm not sure where they're normally hung. The bar is a carpeted space.
To the rear is a beer garden and there is a car park to the right-hand side of the building. A wifi code is available from behind the bar.
Across the 3 handpulls were a couple of Wye Valley beers - HPA & Pyoneer. My Pyoneer was in excellent condition. Alpacalypse can be found on keg, along with Inch's & Carling Black Fruit. Locals were complaining about the Inch's.
Seems like a fairly friendly place. There used to be a CAMRA discount, but I wasn't offered one and there was no signage. So, I assume this has no been ceased.

Traditional two-bar community local full of traditional community locals and a genuine welcome, more than you'll get in the food-centric pubs in some of the villages. It's getting a bit shabby these days, could do with a cosmetic refurb, but if you're after a convivial pint or five you're in the right place. Adnam's Best, Doombar and unusually these days Draught Bass.
