Open after a seven-year interregnum, during which it spent a long period under threat of conversion to residential. Concerted pressure from the locals put a stop to that and it's now in the hands of a couple who have Tex-Mex themed outdoor catering business but wanted a settled base.
Obviously refurbished after being dark for so long, it is predominantly set up for eating with two large areas at either end of the building laid up. Lots of sombreros and things. Bar in the middle for drinkers with a welcome fire and there's a bit of a garden for the days when you don't need a fire. Local Warwickshire beers on the pumps.
It's all very new and needs a while to bed in, but given the enthusiasm we met, I think it will do well.
