The Plough is a backstreet local with a couple of small rooms either side of the entrance, both with a television. The bar counter on the right-hand wall supports standard keg and a couple of hand pumps that were drawing national ales. Opposite the counter is a pool table and a few tables where some locals had assembled to watch an England football friendly with a take-away Chinese. In the right rear is more seating with a dartboard, but I decided to sit in one of the front rooms. The TV was off, but the friendly governor popped in to turn the football on for me. I’m not sure this is somewhere I’d go out of my way to revisit, but as a local boozer it does the job.

Backstreet pub, multi-area'd. A recentish makeover, nicely done if all a bit so what, quite mimsy with a dash of Linda Barker in the wood carved mounted stag heads and wood plank finishings. Dire midwit music just slightly too loud and therefore even more irritating. Two cask at the bar, Sharps Doom Bar and an over-vented Wainwright (NBSS 2). 5.5

The Plough is a small corner pub that is a good walk from the town centre.
This pub had three rooms and i went in the bar which unusually was carpeted there was also a pool table and darts board in here. This used to be a Greenalls tied house and there was one real ale on the bar this was Greenalls bitter this was a fairly decent drink.
I thought this was a decent comfortable pub to have a drink in.
