It's been done up since BS's visit, not that you can tell. It's hardly changed in the 20 odd years I've known it. The only bits not laid up for eating are by the bar, infested with high tables, a couple of normal tables near the fire place then what's basically a corridor leading to the bogs, with raised seating on one side and a row of normal tables on the other. So late afternoon on a Friday, despite all the vast eating areas being deserted, disability consigned us to a table in said corridor. Most of the rest of the clientele were bar-blocking white van types who'd knocked off for the weekend.
It's Stonegate, Landlord on the pumps but I wasn't going to risk the first pint out for hours, and joined the builders on eurofizz, a pint of which plus a bottle of 0% and a packet of crisps came to twelve quid. If you desire food you could part with "13" (pounds I assume, no £ sign on their keyboard) for a cheese toastie.
You won't find the locals in here, there're all in the social club round the corner.

This country pub is situated to the south of Leamington Spa on a B road heading towards the M40. It lies outside Bishop's Tachbrook village itself.
There is quite a large car park with overspill areas and on entering you can instantly tell that this is more of a dining pub than a drinkers' pub. Arriving shortly after its midday opening, I approached a podium requesting me to wait there to be seated, as the two staff members were too busy talking to one another about organising the pub for the day, to be concerned with my entrance. But it wasn't long before they came to the bar to serve me. Doom Bar & Butty Bach are the regular beers. HPA was the guest beer.
The interior is divided into a few different sections for diners. Although it's still fairly open plan. I chose a table adjacent to the bar and was surprised to see that another couple of ladies, who had walked in just after me, were also there just for a drink. After a constant stream to delivery men, another couple of workmen also turned up for a drink, with no sign of any diners at this early stage in proceedings.
A modernised pub that was a disappointing start to my day in Warwickshire.
