One of three pubs close to one another near the Green, the Washington Arms opens at 11am daily except Sunday. So, I managed a morning visit. However, for a pub in the Good Beer Guide, I found it a little disappointing. However, the choice of either Doom Bar or Swedish Blonde didn't really inspire me.

The pub has a number of rooms and presumably does food, as people started arriving for lunch shortly before I left. Service was friendly enough, but there was nothing in particular that makes this pub stand out from the crowd.
