A good sized traditional corner pub, which was slightly more food led on our Saturday afternoon visit. The food was mainly burgers, hotdogs, wraps etc. which looked interesting, lots of spicy fillings and huge portions all served with chips. They also have a good veggie and vegan menu too.
Beer wise, three handpumps serving one ale and one cider. Luckily for us their regular cask is Breaker Pale Ale from Laine Brewery, which is a firm favourite of mine.
The layout in here was a central bar serving a wrap around lounge area. The bar had an oak counter top with turned balustrades supporting pot shelves with coloured stained glass. The pub was boarded throughout and the main feature for me was the original detail cornice work, depicting shells in the side lounge, a nice bit of heritage.

One the walk back into town we stopped at this one. Average selection of ales which was overshadowed by the pubs previously visited, but worth a visit.
