The Cross Keys is a U-shaped pub with tiled flooring around the entrance and around the central L-shaped bar counter. Premium keg was available, but the three hand pumps were all reversed clipped. I ended up with half a Peroni for £3.20, the most expensive drink in the worst pub of the day. It’s surprising how often this is the case. Bare board runs up the left where many of the tables were scattered with chips and peas from the lunchtime rush which finished about five hours before my visit. There is more seating up the right and in the right rear part of the cellar has been converted into a seating/dining area, the only thing of any note in this characterless high street pub. Televisions throughout were airing muted Sky Sports whilst some background music played. This is a working hotel with rooms being accessed at the rear of the bar, I would think they’re very cheap because multiple CCTV cameras throughout suggest this place gets busy at the weekend. I’ll not be returning.

Probably the worst pub we visited in Knutsford on Saturday night.
You enter into a fairly bright bar area, where music was being played at a volume which was far too loud for my delicate ears. Darker and cosier areas could be found to the rear. But there was no escape from the music. If I wanted loud music, I'd choose a nightclub!
Boltmaker & Dizzy Blonde were the real ales. No real cider was available.

Lovely old coaching in Knutsford's olde worlde historic centre. It will have been much altered over the last 300 odd years, the most recent changes including conversion of part of the cellar into a dining area and the addition of an accommodation block to the rear. The wooden partition between the two bars is probably a Victorian arrangement. It's very popular with Knutsford's older, more mature citizens, and gets busy; it suffers the current huge table syndrome which reduces the seating capacity. IN the 2014 GBG with nice TT landlord and Jennings Cumberland amongst others. Well worth a visit.
