The Dun Cow is actually within County Durham.

Confusion reigned as we entered. The card machine had gone missing and there was a queue of people waiting to settle up for their Sunday lunches. I offered to pay using the long last method of cash, which seemed to help matters.

There was no real ale. Whilst I was expecting to find Landlord, it was not on. Keg selections were Carling, John Smith's, Strongbow, Strongbow Dark Fruit, Guinness, Stella Artois, Fosters, Birra Moretti, Maltsmith's & Frizante 1754.

The inside of the pub was packed. With tables in the garden, we moved on outside to join a few families with kids climbing the fir trees at the rear and swinging on some rather unstable looking tyres.

Not one I can recommend.
