A short walk from the high street, the Builders Arms is a Marstons’ pub found in a nice setting behind three round picnic tables. This isn’t the biggest pub, but there is a large beer garden out back. A central bar counter serves a carpeted lounge to the right where banquette seating runs across the front window and up the right-hand wall. To the left is a public bar with parquet flooring and more banquettes. At the rear is a raised area with a dartboard. Sky Sports was playing on the television in the public bar and some background music was in the lounge. Standard keg was available alongside Staropramen and three hand pumps that were drawing Wainwright Gold, Courage Directors and a decent pint of Bank’s Amber. I’d use this pub if I lived locally.
