Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Old Ship

Interesting-looking pub, and easy to spot in the darker hours due to its prominent position on a road junction and the illuminated red signage on the upper façade. Traditional, multi-room interior on two floors, with plenty of dark-wood panelling and mostly nautical memorabilia. Being a Youngs pub, Original and Special plus Twickenham Naked Ladies and Proper Job as guests available from the various handpumps on three different bar counters on this latest visit.

My first pub of the day, but it was too early for a beer, so I had a coffee. There are are four hand pumps on the bar in each room, to left and right of the entrance: two Young’s beers plus St Austell Proper Job and Twickenham Naked Ladies. There are some lovely features, model ships, stained glass, floorboards and the appearance and feel of the place. But the very loud pop music is working hard to destroy the atmosphere. Good quality pop music like Stevie Wonder and other Motown acts, but ridiculously loud.

A Youngs house with attractive exterior stained glass and a traditional two room interior with dark wood flooring throughout.The smarter section is to the left with lots of wood panelling and it's own bar access.The right side is more earthy and has a long devided drinking shelf and high stools with more dining type tables further back.Lots of wall hung photos and maps of the River Thames,although the pub itself sits on a street corner in the shopping district.
There were 4 handpumps all clipped on my visit but on ordering St Austell Proper Job,then Youngs Winter Warmer I was told both were not available.Still the clips were not reversed,very bad practice.That left just two options Youngs Original (NBSS 2) and Special.Food is served most sessions but my tuna sandwich left a lot to be desired.
I can see no reason to return,with some dedication and TLC this could be a good pub,but not as it stands currently.
