Lovely little 3 room pub, tucked away down a lane, and infinitely preferable to the larger establishments on the A25. It only has a few parking spaces, but there is plenty of room in the lane. Hotchpotch of buildings with a slightly quirky layout add to the charm - head to the toilets to find the little restaurant at the back. It is especially notable for superb value Sunday lunches but the food generally sounded good. The beers from Youngs and their regular guest range were in good order and there is a fair amount of outside drinking space in the garden. Bought up by Youngs, so must be feared they have aims of gastro-ising it one day. Get there first! One caution - it doesn't stay open all day except on Sundays.
