Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Star
Appears to be a semi-traditional chain pub / restaurant, although it's not exactly clear which one... Anyway, if you can picture a Vintage or Ember Inn you will get the general idea. Although reasonable busy on the last Sunday before 'Lockdown II', the table service was timely and proficient. With a restricted choice from the five handpumps, it was still pleasing to find these to be Harvey's and Dark Star's American Pale Ale (£4.70) rather than the Doom Bar-laden usual suspects.

Nearest pub to the train station & the racecourse(10 min walk). A traditional interior with exposed beams, brickwork and a real fire. Beers from fuller's, harvey's & sharp's. Advertising live music, quiz nights and food served. Dog friendly.
