A large single bar pub which was once it would seem a two if not three bar pub, there are two entrance doors either end of the pub frontage. Food appears to play a large part of the pubs business but manages to retain very much a drinking pub feel. Some chairs and tables to the rear of the pub are obviously for dining purposes and to the front of the pub are sofa's with low level Oak bench tables for drinking or dining or indeed both, none of this clutters the bar though which is a quite large open space. There is also a conservatory area to the rear leading to a beer Garden. Two TV screens adorned the walls at either end of the main bar area showing two different Sky Sports channels, both were muted. Most of the flooring was down to plain carpet with a wood floorboard area surrounding the bar servery. Two handpumps with one clip turned around leaving London Pride the sole beer available on my visit, not a favourite of mine but to be fair it was in very good condition and I found myself quite enjoying it, I did note several customers also drinking it,there was plenty of usual suspect keg Lagers, Cider and Guinness also available. The service was efficient and friendly.
I quite warmed to the pub,not enough to go out of my way for, given the ale choice, but worth calling in should you find yourself in Lightwater for any reason.
