The Mill is situated right on the Sussex side of its border with Surrey, within easy walking distance of the Surrey town of Haslemere.
This was easily the busiest pub we visited of 10 in West Sussex. It was heaving with a fairly young crowd enjoying live music as part of a charity event. Inside, there are 3 rooms. The two the the front were the quietest, but we felt obliged to join a rather long queue to the bar at the rear where people were also there to order food.
As a Butcombe pub, the cask ale range is a little limited - Gold, Original & Tropical. On keg, there was their West Coast IPA & Tall Trees Pale Ale. The cider was Thatcher's Juicy Apple.
The front rooms felt more like a proper pub, but the extremely loud music and rowdy atmosphere in the rear room and the patio beyond that destroyed any atmosphere there might normally be. As such, it wasn't a place we particularly wanted to linger in. May be ok at quieter times.

When I first came here a few years ago it was a Wadworth pub, it now appears to be owned by Butcombe as the six handpumps covered four of their beers along with their stab at craft keg along with some more usual premium Lagers. There are three distinct split level drinking areas and although the pub is definitely food led it's ok for a pint.

Less a pub and more a restaurant with a bar. To the left is a fairly empty bar area with a lot of unused floor space. Either side of this are separate dining rooms. Just Doom Bar on, served by a be-suited and polite Mediterranean barman. The ale was warm but I've had worse I suppose. The grassed garden area off to right side was nice. In no way a drinking destination but marked as such, of course...
