An impressive building of some history from the outside, but the interior has been extensively modernised to a lounge feel, with copper tables, distressed wood and arty décor, plus a couple of open wood burner brick fireplaces. Generally feels as though it has pretensions to be upmarket but doesn't quite get there. The large front room is used for dining, with an area to the side of the bar being the focus for the locals. Upstairs there is a strange slightly bare room, which could be nice except it is also the access to the toilets. Outside there is a large terraced garden. Draught beers were Proper Job, Doom Bar and London Pride.

Thought I reviewed it but not to worry! Decent pub which specialises in pizza but also offers a wide range of other food. There are at least two ales on with the only memorable one being the ever popular Doom Bar.
