Village pub with an L shaped main room with wooden flooring and low ceilings plus a smaller dining room. Three handpumps with a choice of Doom Bar or Hogs Back Tea. Nothing special but inoffensive.

Another ‘country dining’ place in the locale. Decently done without being memorable, the front ‘cubby hole’ table was the only thing that moved me to make a note, interior-wise. Pretty good rear garden, grassed with kids play area and dog friendly. Two ales, Hogs Back TEA (died) and a surprisingly decent Doom Bar (expensive mind you, closer to 5 than 4 quid for two halves). Robotic Eastern European staff not exactly enhancing the ambience. A pub for rich people who don’t like regular pubs.

The Woolpack changed management recently and has undergone refurbishment inside and out. They've chosen a back to basics approach to their menu and are now serving really honest pub grub. It's definately worth a visit, and for those who remember what it was like 5+ years ago, you'll be pleased to know it's back on course again.
