The best pub in Hyde? Almost certainly in my opinion. A multi roomed layout with a pool room in darkeness to the rear. Some decent tiling and quite a lot of bric-a-brac. I turned right as I entered, through a partially glassed door. There were a bunch of 8 or so guys at the bar and another 2 or 3 sat down having a heated discussion on which was the best way to hunt wild, hairy haggis. :-)) 6 handpumps on the bar serving 3 from Beartown and 3 guests. I started on my pint and leaned on the bar and within a couple of minutes was being included in the amusing banter going on around the bar. Some people left and others came in, but still the banter continued. I was originally going to get a train back to Manchester at 7, but ended up getting the half past 7 one after having another pint. Both pints were very well kept and the pub is quite rightly listed in the CAMRA GBG2015. If I lived in Hyde this would be my local. Thanks for a very entertaining hour and a quarter guys.

I liked this pub, the customers and staff were welcoming and friendly and there were a variety of well kept real ales on the bar.
There is also an upstairs music bar, can't really say much about that as I didn't go upstairs to look.

Called in here last week had to wait for the young lad behind the bar to finish his hand of poker there were 4 little Nappy dogs running round yapping away they belonged to hippy type girl who was a customer. Eventually got our drinks one was wrong forgot too take our money and started playing cards again.
THANKS FOR THE DRINKS BUT WONT CALL AGAIN
