A Youngs house, refurbed internally in a modern style ,popular with diners but not to the detriment of those wishing to only drink. The best part of the pub is the front, with to the left some sofas and chesterfield giving way to dining type tables but not set for dining although might be reserved for that purpose. To the right are two small rooms ,the bar is central to the building before a very large and somewhat austere rear conservatory for diners only.
The front is dog friendly while there is a small terrace beer garden, similarly to the rear off the carpark. Two ales Youngs Original and a decent Surrey Hills Shere Drop (NBSS 3.5).
Not somewhere for a session but a worthy stop for a pint or two.The food was pretty good too.

A pub that appeard rather food orientated to me, inside its a modernised pub/restaruant in what was once obviously a traditional pub, these things have to be done sometimes to survive I suppose but it didn't float my boat. There were however four hand pumps, all in operation serving up ,Harveys Best, Sharps Cornish Coaster, Surrey Hills Shere Drop and Trumans Swift. It was pleasant enough sat outside in the sunshine but the pub itself didn't strike a chord, I wont be rushing back.

The Wheatsheaf on Esher Green - Under New Management - has re-opened with excellent food and service. It's so good to have our local back.....

The Wheatsheaf has undergone a complete makeover, the ambiance is just right. This is what I call a decent pub. Great selection of beers, Excellent Food - I had a Sunday Roast Beef. I asked for rare .... and it was just perfect ... (Now that's rare in a pub, normally it's pot luck and often covered in gravy). Francoise had Roast Chicken, also perfectly cooked. A treat. The wine was a very good Rioja - our preference ..... With an excellent view over Esher Green. The Wheatsheaf is the most pleasant place to be .....
