The Cricketers has a lovely location overlooking a cricket green. Unfortunately, it has gone the way of many other pubs and now encourages bookings at the expense of passing trade, trying to make you feel really lucky if they will permit you to take one of their available tables.
A time limit was set for our departure, which gave us far more time than we required, as we were only stopping for halves.
Doom Bar or Ranmore was the option. However, I'd read that they also served Lilley's ciders. Having enquired about ciders, I was offered a number of keg and bottle options. When I enquired about Lilley's specifically, the young waiter asked the landlord if they were available and he said that there were a couple of options. I ordered the Rhubarb Cider, only for the young guy to return with no cider. Apparently, they were unavailable. So, Ranmore it was.
The pub enjoys a lovely location, but customer service could certainly be improved.

A food-led pub in a nice location on a green by the duckpond. Very much a stripped board feel to the interior, with a mixture of modern and traditional trimmings. The bar is to one side, a tabled room to the other and a split-level dining area is at the back, plus outside tables. Handpumps featured Surrey Hills Ranmore, Dorking Pilcrow Pale, Doom Bar and a Lilley's cider..

Nice white clapperboarded pub that has a big outside area to the side and front,Opposite a cricket green and next to a duck pond.Unusual shaped chestnut tree in the front.Split level interior that seemed Harvester like.Cask beers were Spit,Hob,Boon and a splendid pint of Surrey Hills -Ranmore.(the advertising outside claimed this was a veritable beer fest.I beg to differ)
