Under the flyover - a fine back street local that could only have been improved by having a few more locals in it. Monday nights are never the best to experience a pub at its finest.
A central bar, with small nooks and crannies running around the main bar.
Fullers beers on offer - and for the second time tonight in a fullers house, no ESB. The HSB was in perfect condition and worthy of its Good Beer Guide 2026 ranking.

A street corner pub situated in the shadow of the elevated Croydon By -Pass,this is a Fullers tied house with an interesting interior.It's L shaped with the entrance on the shorter side into the tap room with a darts board to the right.Through an arch is a back lounge with its own servery while past this down a step is a quiet snug area with no bar access but a door to allow for easy glass clearance.The windows have etched glass and the interior layout seems authentic but some of the tongue and groove does look modern but still in keeping for a community local.
The lively barman was very welcoming and there is an inclusive ,relaxed vibe here and a mile away from the nearby Bulls Head.Ale on my trip were Fullers London Pride,HSB and Hophead (NBSS 4 as befits a GBG regular) with a guest of Harvey's Sussex Best which seemed a missed opportunity.
Not as exciting an ale line up as experienced by previous reviewers but still a very decent pub for a quiet pint or two.

Backstreet pub that was the best of the 3 Fuller's pubs we tried in the Croydon area.
With a corner location, the room and bar are L-shaped and have a cosy feel. With 3pm opening times during the week, we were the first customers of the day. The barmaid was friendly and she was accompanied by the 9-month-old pub cat, who was also extremely friendly and clearly well fed!
London Pride, ESB & HSB are the regular beers. Guests came by way of Hophead & Boltmaker, which made it a much better beer range than I had anticipated.
A friendly locals' pub with a warm feel to it.
