The small left-hand bar of the Brook Inn was busy during a recent Friday evening visit, I think there was a darts event or league match on because the group playing darts in the left rear corner were spilling back into the bar area and most of the pub seemed to be interested in what was happening. The counter up the right wall supports standard and premium keg alongside five hand pumps that were drawing Great Newsome’s Pricky Back Otchan, Courtyard Brewing’s The Blues, Nethergate’s Golden Gate and Growling Dog Raspberry Milk Stout as well as Charnwood Brewery’s Outfoxed. I went for the Great Newsome which was good. The right-hand bar felt larger, but I think this was because there were just two locals sat at the counter that supports another four hand pumps, but these were unused. There’s some seating in this bar and a pool table, and the background music couple be heard over the chatter. A solid local’s boozer that opens late and closes late.
