Basic local on the outskirts of Ipswich about a mile from the centre although there is a half hourly bus service along the Norwich road. A nineteen thirties building still with Tolly Cobbold on the front. Inside is a little bland with a 2 or 3 room layout, the U shaped bar counter is immediately in front of the door with a reasonably cosy room with open fire and big screen to its right and a rather blander and sparce lounge area behind. Beyond at lower level is a pool table, screens and machine area with access to the rear. On the left side of the pub is a dining area. Beers now come from Adnams with guests from Marstons (Hobgoblin) and Wells & Youngs (Youngs Bitter) on my visit, reasonable condition but maybe not quite GBG standard.
