Still a large Vintage Inn just off the A1047 on your way into Ipswich. You kind of know what you are going to get before arriving because the Vintage Inn chain is even more corporate that it was in 2014 when the last reviewer paid this one a visit, and they all kind of fit a mould. However, if what you are after is something reasonable to eat with hopefully a decent pint from a national brewer in a comfortable pub setting, then this chain does tend to meet the brief, as did The Beagle on our visit.
Usual set up, main bar area with comfortable seating and then several dining areas off this with the usual plenty of aged beams and exposed brickwork interspersed with modern décor and artwork. And then an enormous outside garden area, both to the front and the back of the pub.
Due to its location the National Brewer of choice is here is Adnams and I went for the Ghost Ship, which was tired but not tired enough for me to send it back. Our two roasts were spot on though, so a job well done there.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Beagle
Large Vintage Inn located next to a Premier Inn out in the country just west of the A14. Looks traditional enough as you approach, but the interior has the usual mixture of traditional and modern furniture and decor that ends up feeling rather corporate. Variety of dining areas, plus some additional seating around the bar. Patio area to the front. Three handpumps, with the local Adnams Southwold and Broadside plus Navigation Ice Breaker as a guest.
