Reopens on 29th October 2009 following full refurbishment. Built in the 17th Century, with later additions, The White Horse is a large charming pub with spacious dining rooms, an open fire, large copper topped bar, private room, garden, plenty of parking and wonderful rural public footpaths. With a nostalgic nod Di has created a Tuck Shop selling sweeties, chocolate and ice-cream - not only essential for the locals with a late night sweet tooth – but visiting children with no room for dessert but plenty of room for an ice-lolly will be equally delighted. The White Horse, Rede Rd, Whepstead, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP29 4SS. Telephone 01284 735760. www.whitehorsewhepstead.co.uk
