Strongers . left this review about The Tollgate
The Tollgate is a Greene King pub with seating across the front windows either side of the entrance and up the right-hand side. There are lots of dividing walls that break the seating up, much like you’d find in a food orientated pub, although I wouldn’t have said this place was overly dry led. An L-shaped serving counter to the left supports premium keg alongside Fosters and a bank of doubled up hand pumps on each counter, Yardbird, Abbot Ale and IPA were the GK ales of choice. The service was polite, but there was little here to draw me back in, although I did enjoy listening to a bit of Jamiroquai in the background before I left. To sum up, I found this to be a forgettable pub that’s not worth the walk from town.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Tollgate
Greene King pub on the northern edge of town. Refurbished in the usual semi-modern, managed-house style that is bland rather than outright offensive. The staff also appear to have swallowed (or been required to swallow) the most rigorous interpretation of the post-coronavirus government rule book with visors as well as facemasks, etc. However, although the only real ale choices from a total of six handpumps were IPA and Abbot, the former was curiously priced £3.51 and as good as it gets (as it should be at a relatively short distance from the brewery).
