Although this town centre boozer is faced in local flint,the banner for Sky Sports and a dusty exterior didn't bode well.It's has a large,bare open plan interior with a pool table and darts board to the right,two flatscreens to the right and limited seating on traditional tables and chairs.It had a laddish atmosphere on my Friday evening visit,while one screen was showing Sky Sports,while the other with BT Sports was on mute.The friendly landlady was only able to offer one real ale in the ubiquitous Doom Bar with the other two handpumps unclipped.Looking around everyone else was drinking lager,but she pulled off several pints of Doom Bar and was insistint that I should return any vinegar.It was fine if dull,but clearly was the first Doom Bar drawn that evening.
I do wonder how long this kind of wet led pub can survive,maybe the regulars keep it ticking over,but there's not enough for me to warrant a revisit.
